My voting experience this am
I showed up at 6am and the doors were still closed, there was a line of people waiting to go in, they finally opened at 6:07 and when we went in it was so disorganized I waited on a line I thought was correct only to be told i had to go to another when I asked people which line I belonged in the poll workers had no clue and were rude and unhelpful, I saw a few elderly people just leave without voting because no one would help them!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know who I can call to complain!!!!!

Re: My voting experience this am
I KNOW!!!
When I went to vote around 7am, it was open BUT there were 5 tables and I had to go to every one to see if I was in the right place. They split my street up by number and there was no direction or signs as to what table you belonged to.
People were freaking out how unorganized it was.
How hard is it to put signs up?

Re: My voting experience this am
We did not have signs, but we did have a lot of volunteers there and someone making announcements.
They were also strictly enforcing rules - like no campaign buttons, newspapers, etc. in the polling place.

Call your local board of elections right away. ITA. I was not *allowed* to vote this morning b/c I moved and my new address is in a different county. I called but I will tell you the phone "line" was almost as bad as the line at the polling center. And they are not letting me vote unless I find my old license with my old address. Yeah OK.

Re: My voting experience this am
I went at 8 and I was in and out in 5 minutes. I'm thinking that everyone thought there would be lines so they all went at 6. The guy I work with went at 6 and left because of the lines.

Which polling site did you go to? Your old address or your new address?
When you got your new DL, did you switch your registration, too?
If you went to the old site, go to your new, correct site. You should be able to vote by paper ballot if you're not on the list.

Yup - and to add, if you already went to the new site and they said you couldn't vote there, even by paper ballot, then call the board of elections immediately. You should be able to vote in your new polling site with your new address by paper ballot.

Not a flame. But why would this surprise you if you didn't change your registration? I lived on Staten Island for 3 years, but never changed my address, so I'd go to Suffolk County (where my parents lived) to vote.
When I moved back out to Suffolk and changed my name and address with the DMV, I re-registered at my new house and I vote here, but DH is still registered on SI at his step mom's so he had to go vote there this am.
Hope it gets resolved
