Myrtle Beach
Anyone ever been? Where did you stay? Was there anything to do besides go to the beach?

Re: Myrtle Beach
I spent 6 weeks there this summer.
One weekend we stayed at Sea Crest. It was affordable, nice spot on the beach.
Then we stayed at Coral Beach, which was also nice, had a band playing and outside bar. But up on the 7th floor, the elevator took forever.
Both those were on the beach.
Majority of the time we were off the beach at a Comfort Suites on Frontage Rd, about 3 miles from beach.
There is Broadway at the Beach there. So many bars: Senor Frogs, Fat Tuesdays, Hard Rock, Jimmy Buffet..tons and tons...
Wilmington is to the north, we went on a ghost walk there. Then we drove south to charleston one day, tons of shopping.
At Myrtle Beach, people are constantly on the beach. One night we were swimming at 1 AM, people still on beach. Then they are out again at 6 AM. Tons of restaurants.

Re: Myrtle Beach
We always stayed with my grandparents in Surfside Beach. There is SOOOO much to do there though!! Broadway on the Beach, Barefoot Landing, go karting, mini golf everywhere, Dicks Last Resort is hilarious (restaurant but go for a late lunch!)... I could keep going on and on

Re: Myrtle Beach
Wow, thanks. Is there a better place to stay that is closer to the bars and other fun places so we don't have to drive? We are looking to do a quick weekend trip next month and don't want to spend too much and I see a lot of places to stay there. I am just not sure what is a good hotel and area and what isn't.

So we would be able to take a shuttle from any hotel to Braodway on the Beach? If there are all those bars, I don't want to have to drive.

Since I was stone cold sober this summer, I babysat for a lot of my visiting liitle cousins while their parents went to Broadway at the Beach. From the beach(Coral Beach Resorts) a van/taxi would bring them for 16.00.

Re: Myrtle Beach
I love Myrtle Beach, and there is plenty to do. They have a place called Broadway on the Beach. It is a man made lake that they built different islands of stores, restaurants, miniature golf, bars and a big aquarium. There is so much to do and it is really nice. It is kind of like Down town Disney, if you have ever been there. There is also Bare foot Landing, which is pretty similar to Broadway on the beach. We stayed at Monterey Bay Suites. It was a really nice place and a large room with a separate kitchen and living room.

Driving is really no big deal. It is really easy to get around and it literally took us 10 minutes to get to broadway on the beach from our hotel.
