N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
Can anyone share their experiences with Dr. Hershlag, Dr. Scholl, Dr. Cohen, Chu or Rausch? Personality? Thoroughness? I have met with Dr. Scholl for a consult and they said I would have to stick with him. I wondering if I should have met Hershlag?
Also how was your experience with them as far as being organized, response to answering your phone calls if you have questions, wait time etc.
The same applies to East Coast Fertility . At ECFI met with Dr. Zapantis. What are your thougts on him. Please FM if you need to.

Dr. Zapantis is my Dr. I really like him a lot; has a wonderful bed-side manner and is super thorough. I do not feel like a number with him. I just met with him yesterday for IVF and we need to have a letter sent to my ins co and he was more then willing to do anything possible to get my coverage moved up. I have only briefly met with some of the other Drs at ECF; all seemed very nice. LMK if you have any more q's

I was a patient at North Shore and I saw all the Dr's there even though Dr Hershlag was my RE. All the Dr's and nurses were great and my overall experience was excellent. You will end up seeing most Dr's in the practice. They have good hours and do fertility treatments on weekends and holidays. Good luck to you!

A friend went to N. Shore and had nothing but glowing remarks. I think her primary was Dr. Cohen, but she saw many of the doctors there.

I have nothing but good things to say about everyone there. Dr Scholl was my primary DR but I saw everyone in the pratice. Dr Chu did my retrival and transfer and Dr Hershlag did most of my followup appt until I was realeased from them.

ITA. Dr. Rausch was my primary Dr but going through IVF you wind up seeing all the Drs. in the practice. I have seen all of them. Dr. Hershlag did my ER and Dr. Cohen did my ET. all the doctors now (I'm 30w pregnant with ). GL!

I can say the same about the docs there. However only Dr Chu I felt had zero bedside manner and after my one bad experience with her I didnt see her again. The RN's are the best as well.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I went to North Shore a year and a half ago and saw Dr. Chu and REALLY disliked her. For someone in such a sensitive field, she lacked all sensitivity. I need a little TLC, and she provided none. All the other doctors I came in contact with were really great (Dr. Hershlag, Dr. Cohen, and Dr. Rosenfeld). So I'd still recommend them, but just not Dr. Chu as your main doctor.
Good luck.

I am an IVF graduate from North Shore. Dr Scholl was my main ivf Dr & I could not be happier. The entire practice was really great to work with.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I have to disagree with everyone. I felt as if they just wanted to rush me into taking medication and to IUIs without really trying to fix anything. I also was trying to get them to work with me payment plans and I called 10x and no one returned my phone calls. Also, they gave me wrong information more then once about how to go about with my husbands testing. I felt as if I was not an important patient and left to go somewhere smaller where you feel as if they care. Of course not without a large bill.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
They are off my list because they are way too expensive. Their stats are not that impressive in comparison to the others and Dr. Scholl did not make me feel comfortable. There is like a month and half wait list for Hershlag and I do not have that time. I'm sure it is not a bad place at all but not for me.
Also, for what they charge, the front desk and financial coordinators were not that helpful either. I agree with the prior post. They charge a lot more because they fall under hospital jurisdiction. Also it kind of helps when they can say that Ms. Lopez was treated there.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I had a great experience at North Shore. Dr. Cohen was my primary doctor, but I met with Scholl, Rausch and Chu for IVF. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant ! Before I went to North Shore I went to a much smaller practice and their pricing plan was within the same range. All of the nurses were great!

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I am currently a patient of Dr. Cohen's but have seen Dr. Scholl and Dr. Rausch. I love Dr. Cohen and Dr. Scholl but was really turned off by Dr. Rausch. She was literally in and out of the room in 3 minutes and actually gave me incorrect information (that was determined incorrect by Dr. Cohen after speaking with him afterwards). I feel like every case is individual, and I sometimes I do feel like Dr. Cohen is pushing IVF a little but since most of our other efforts have failed maybe he's pushing IVF because he realizes other options are futile...overall i like the practice. Good luck!

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I have nothing but good things to say about NS LIJ! Dr. H is my Dr. At first, he was more aggressive with treatment than I thought I wanted to be, and DH was turned off by him. He gave me the right to wait until DH and I were ready to move along.
He answers our questions, he follows up, and he makes us laugh. I particularly love the nurses in the back. We're always joking around and talking.
I've seen all of the other Dr.s and I think they're all great. My personality didn't gel with Cohen as much but he is thorough thoroough thorough! Dr. Chu is just a regular gal who is friendly and accomodating. I need someone like her to relax me when I get myself nuts. She has done my IUI's because Dr. H is away.
Love them, and wouldn't change a thing!

I completely agree. Met with Dr Rausch and was not impressed.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
Dr. Cohen was my doctor. He was wonderful. I saw all the doctors and liked all of them except Dr. Chu. For a female there was something I just didn't like. I was totally turned off from her.
I do agree w/ the pp that once they decide you can't get pregnant on your own, that start with surgeries/ medicine/ iui/ivf immediately. Honestly at the point of my life when I went to them, the pace was okay, I didn't care why I couldn't get pregnant, I just wanted to get pregnant. Now trying for my second, I do want to know why I can't get pregnant, but I also at a different place than where I was trying for #1.
I love them and am glad for all they did.

Re: N. Shore Center for Human Reproduction/ECF
I am a graduate and current patient of NSUH and absolutely love them The docs and nurse went out of the way to care for me when my dad died in the middle of my IVF cycle and I was monitored out of state. Their billing department if another story....
However to be fair regarding the lawsuit, if that is a concern you shoudl research each practice's malpractice record. Just because it wasn't in the news doesn't mean that a practice/md hasn't committed malpractice
