Nail polish that doesn't chip
My best friend got her nails done TWO weeks ago, and they have yet to chip! It's some type of polish that is painted on (with a paintbrush type tool) and they dried under one of those special dryers. It's supposed to last two weeks, and it sure has! Has anyone gotten this done before? I'm looking for a nail salon in the Oceanside/RVC area that does this. TIA

Re: Nail polish that doesn't chip
its called a Gel manicure
they put a gel on your nails and the polish over it!
ETS - ok after re-reading the OP, i think that sounds like UV gel. I get powder gel, much more affordable and less damaging. For the powder gel, they paint a liquid on your nail and then dip it in power that hardens and they can shape it, file etc. You can get it filled every 2-3 weeks . I pay 20 for a fill ever 2-3 weeks!

I keep my nails very short- so I don't think it's any worse then any other product I put on them - wraps, or other "fake" nail

Re: Nail polish that doesn't chip
I've had Opi Russian Navy on for almost a week and it has yet to chip. It's just fading at the tips a bit.

Re: Nail polish that doesn't chip
I had them also.. and I kept my nails very short..
The gel started to peal at the tops after a week.. I figured why pay so much if these are going to peal.. chipping is cheaper.. but anyway.. I took them off and my nails were AWFUL.. it took a good month to get them back into shape (still not there yet).
It is just like having fake ones, it will do the same damage.. with all the filling they do to your real nails, never again for me..
Not worth it my opinion.
I got some stuff and this has been helping.
Creative sticky base coat
Not using a base coat at all will work good (but your nails may turn yellow from the polish, you can always soak your nails is the stuff they sell for whiting Dentures.. that will make them white again).
Seche Vite top coat - this stuff is the best.. OMG dries your nails in 5 minutes and leaves them with an amazing shine.
I do my own nails now.. I bought a whole bunch of OPI nail polishes and when they chip I just re-do them (mine are still chipping because of the gel and my nails not being in good shape.
Hope this helps!
