Name help!
Hi Mamas!!
Looking for some impartial opinions on our DD #2's possible name - I did some googling and opinions on the middle name vary, so I wanted to see what everyone thinks:
Francesca Joie
1st name is after my mother's maiden name and we figured we need something short and sweet to go with Francesca. Joie would be pronounced joy, even though that is the translation and not the actual pronunciation.
Nickname would be Franny. I just can't decide how I feel about this spelling of the middle name, if we should just call it Joy instead. I feel like Joie is just prettier and a better fit for an Italian first name.
Thoughts? TIA!!

I think Joie is really pretty. I'd keep it just like that.

Re: Name help!
Yes, Joie is French. I just think it pairs better with the Italian than the English. Totally just my opinion!

I read it as "joey" before I saw how you described it. I would go with joy, or maybe a different middle name?

Its a middle name - spell it how you like it. People use their middle names so infrequently.

Name help!
I personally do not like the spelling of the middle name- I read it as Joey. My daughter's name is Francesca and she has an 8 letter middle name- use the names and spellings you like but do not be upset if they are mispronounced. We use my daughter's full first name- no nickname because DH and I love her name and my in laws use to make comments all the time.

Use what you like.
I read it as "joy", not "joey", but really it's a middle name so it'll rarely be used anyway. But I do agree that it looks prettier spelled Joie.

Re: Name help!
Thanks, Everyone. Definitely mixed reviews! I've had a hard time naming things my whole life - I actually remember dreading naming dolls as a child. It's just so permanent!
I've heard people pronouncing it "Joey" but in French it would really be "zhwa" (kind of, haha) but we would simply say joy. And yes, it's a middle name, so it won't be used all that much anyway!
Thanks for the input!!

I love the first name too!
I wouldn't really use her nickname, but my DH is big into nicknames. Our daughter, Isabel, goes mostly by Izzy.

Re: Name help!
I think the middle name is fine, most people hardly ever say or use a middle name anyway.
As for Francesca, I love it. and just wanted to say that I absolutely love the nickname Frankie with it. So cute. I'm not a big fan of Franny, sorry.

Re: Name help!
I would just name her Francesca Joy. I like the full name of Francesca vs the nickname. But it's your baby so go with what you like!

I read Joie as Joey & not Joy so I'd use Joy personally.
