Name Question
DH and I were discussing  names the other day (not that we know its a girl) and we love the name Alexandra but we have a really long last name so we think it would be too long. What do you thinkof the name Alex for a ?

DH and I love Alexandra for a too! It's the top of our very short list! We have a very short last name though so for us we feel it is a balance. A very short first name would sound silly with our last name, in our opinion! There are so many nice nicknames for Alexandra and so many great middle names to go with it too.

I keep telling DH that we can name her Alexandra and just call her Alex. She is going to change her name one day. He is concerned that her name won't fit on any scantrons

I think its adorable. I grew up w/ an Alexandra and we always called her Alex.

That was my favorite girls name growing up..mostly because you could call her Alex.
