Name question

What would you do? I would like my daughter's name (if I have one) to honor my mom. HOWEVER, I'm not a fan of her name (nor is she). Her name is Virginia. Her middle name is Marie - should I just use that? Does it mean as much if I use the middle name?
I think we've narrowed it to Riley for a first name for a girl.

Alternatively, DH's mom's name would go beautifully (Elizabeth). If we have a boy we're using his dad's name as the middle name - so DH gets his turn.

if it means the most, go with that!
I think having any part of the name is meaningful!

Re: Name question

I voted Riley Marie, I think its very pretty and honors your mom......normally I would say go with the one that means the most, but I didn't vote for it bc you and your mom don't really like the name (I actually think Riley Virginia is pretty as well!)

I totally agree. If it means the most to you, I would go with Riley Virginia! And to be able to tell your baby where her name came from and why... I think that's pretty cool!

Re: Name question

I would go with Virginia. People rarely use their middle name anyway and I think it is nice to honor your mom. If we had a girl we were going to use the middle name Marie - it is BOTH of our mother's middle names so it was perfect!

Re: Name question

I like Riley Virginia....it sounds good. i agree, that the middle name is not worth stressing over because its hardly used. I think its more important that it means something.
