Name the best gift you got after having the baby
My friend just had her baby and i hate sending flowers (she's in CT). Everyone always sends flower and/or baby clothes.
But i wanted something a bit more original and maybe something for her.
Any ideas?

Gift cards. Then I can purchase whatever I want/need. Formula, diapers, clothes, toys...or even save it for later.
I also appreciate it when I get a "me" gift...so often people send a gift "for the baby" which is sweet, but my aunt sent me PJs and it was nice to get something all for me.

DEFINITELY gift cards - I didnt get many of them, but when I did, the sigh of relief was audible.... I went a long time not having to purchase formula, wipes, or diapers out of my own money.... Now my GC's are all gone and I'm feeling it!!!

My boss bought me a BEAUTIFUL wicker baby rocking chair that can convert to a regular chair when she is bigger.
It was the best - I loved it!
Oh, and GC to restaurants are great too!

A guiness and chocolate covered strawberries. Seriously. Because I wanted both SO BADLY while I was pregnant - but couldn't have them. My girlfriend remembered and brought them to the hospital.
I think a maid would have been AWESOME. Laundry Service would have rocked too.

 Ha! Jessica's sister had the baby. Baby girl. 7 lbs 6 oz... Samantha Marie. ANd since she's in CT, well i think i might just get them a gift certificate for dinner and then offer Jessica's services for babysitting!

BRU gift cards and my mom and SIL cleaned my house the day my water broke...not crazy clean, but, we had a party the night before and they didn't want me coming home to a mess.

A cookie display with Ava's name on it, and they looked like little baby blocks. A certain LIFer sent it to me in the hospital and I loved it
Also, I got a pink baseball that said It's a Girl! and has places to write the baby's stats on it. I loved it because JT and I are huge baseball fans. I think it was from the hospital gift shop, but I still have it on her shelf.
As for me, the best thing was having family take care of our meals. Not having to worry about that was amazing. Since you're not nearby from what I read, maybe see if she has Peapod by her to deliver groceries and send a giftcard for that!

Oh my god, I was just saying today that the best gift that I ever got was the Sleep Sheep. I thought it died on me last night and I was ready to scream. It puts my daughter to sleep and keeps her asleep for 10 to 12 hours a night and for naps in the day. It drows out any noise. I started using it after I got it when she was 7 weeks old and thats when I started to get sleep. It's a lifesaver!!!
You can order it online just google sleep sheep.
