NAP NANNY caused my daughter to have horrible sleeping habits and now i dont know how to fix it...please help!!!

so i purchased the nappy nanny which was very needed for my DD and her reflux.. and true to advertisment it work!!!!! how ever when DD started sitting up and turning over at 7 months i had to take her out. well i couldnt get her to lay down and sleep in her crib..maybe a handful of times. the only place she would sleep comfortably was in her carseat. now i have a 8.5 month old that only sleeps in a carseat i tried actually today to break the habit. im an ok with the CIO BUT she didnt cry all she did was roll around and sit up she slept for only 40 mins laying down which normally is 2 hrs...how do i get my kid to sleep normally... i had to put her back in carseat at night..

ANY advice would be great..

PS a friend of mine whose son is about the same age is going through the same thing...

Just keep trying. If she sleeps for 40 min, then she sleeps for 40 min. If you keep putting her back in the carseat, then she won't learn.

I have no advice, but a similar problem with my now 11 month old who only naps in the carseat too and still needs to be rocked to sleep. It's horrible, but he just falls asleep so well in there. In the crib, he rolls around, stands up and usually cries. He hates being in his crib. How do we break these habits? Is it just a matter of letting them CIO in the crib?

Maybe you should ask the nap nanny expert (ie:inventor/salesperson) that has been popping up on LIF

We are going through something like this also. DS slept in his infant seat bc of his reflux. Now at 5 1/2 months we have been trying to transition him to his crib and he just wants no part of it. He will sleep for an hour and then wake up and roll around in there for awhile before he starts to cry. As soon as we put him back in the infant seat he is asleep and sttn.

Everyone tells us to be consistent and leave him in the crib, even when he starts to cry. We just started to put him in the crib for naps to get him used to it and so far it seems to be working.

My kids slept in their infant to toddler rocker for 4-5 months. I transitioned them to cribs and they did fine. If she is not crying when you put her in the crib just wait it out. Eventually she'll sleep for longer

i had to get my dd out of her swing habit. i started by letting her fall asleep in the swing, and then after she was out, put her in the crib. eventually we made the full transition but it required a lot of cio to get her to fall asleep in the crib.

i just saw a positioner on the bbb website that goes under the mattress and provides some elevation. i think it could be used up to 3yo. it was under crib accessories, i think. maybe that would help?

ok it took an hr and a half a little crying not much and shes asleep..well see for how long........

We arein the same boat. DD is 9mths and still in the nap nanny.
