napping in the crib

so my DS will not nap in his crib, he can be fast asleep and if i put him in their, its like he has a sixth sense of something b/c he gets up right away and wants to play, granted we have a mobile and stuffed animals in there, but i cant beleive how distracted he is by them and stimulated. I have a feeling i will have to clear everything out, he's so alert and curious (and LOVES his mobile and the winnie the pooh characters on the bumper).
Did anyone else have to do this to get their DC to sleep in it? I hate having to take out the mobile, maybe when hes a little holder he'll be able to sleep with it over the crib again

My DD definitely plays for a while when I put her in for a nap. She could play for up to 45 minutes before pooping out in there. It doesn't bother me...she's occupying herself and having fun. I don't take her toys out b/c I look at it as her learning to play alone & winding herself down.
