Naps and Feeding Question- HELP please
Usually during the day Emerson eats every 3 hrs. Since she's been sleeping through the night she is more fussy during the day in between feedings.......go figure!! Anyway, today she was in hysterics and finally fell asleep at the 3 hr. mark when she would've needed her next bottle. Since she was so upset I wanted her to sleep. Now it's been 5 hrs. since the last bottle and she's still out cold. Is it ok to let her keep sleeping or should I wake her to feed her? She is 10 1/2 weeks old so my thinking is at this point she is old enough to know when she needs to eat and I should just leave her but I'm not sure. What do you think? TIA!!

Re: Naps and Feeding Question- HELP please
new mommy here too (in other words, what do I know?)
every baby is different but AJ eats every 3 hours as well. If she's cranky and doesnt take a nap after eating and ends up asleep, I won't wake her. I let her sleep, but I personally don't let her sleep more than 3 hours - otherwise she won't sleep through the night. If she sleeps through a feed for more than one hour then she's usually STARVING by the time she wakes up!
Good Luck

I wouldn't wake a sleeping baby.
When she wakes up, she'll be hungry. Just be ready.

Re: Naps and Feeding Question- HELP please
I always left DS alone in the beginning, let him sleep thru whatever it was time for. Even if I felt like I had a schedule going and he was screwing it up by oversleeping...I just went w/the flow. Which was SO hard after feeling like I had some sort of routine. I also found that following his schedule always worked out anyway...meaning he'd somehow make up for any over or under sleeping patterns, does that make sense??

Re: Naps and Feeding Question- HELP please
My dd is 11 1/2 weeks and I don't wake her to feed ever, even if she sleeps past her scheduled time.
Just be prepared she will wake up hungry and want it immediately

Re: Naps and Feeding Question- HELP please
Thanks ladies!! I ended up leaving her alone and you're right........when she woke up she was starving but I changed her and fed her and now she's happy and content. I'm glad I just let her be, I think she needed the sleep and she won't let herself starve.
