Re: Nasonex nose spray

I use Nasacort...similar spray.

I thought it was weird when the ENT had to show me how to spray it, but it is different than other nose sprays.

You have to press it to the back of your nose (not up it).

ugh...I'm horrible at explaining things...does this make sense?

ETA: Ok...I'm officially a geek!Chat Icon I actually went on Nasacort's website and there is a step by step instructions on using it...

Put the spray tip into one nostril (tip should not reach far into the nose.) BEND HEAD FORWARD so spray will air towards the back of the nose.
Point tip straight back into nose. Close the other nostril with finger. Pump spray unit by pushing the bottle with thumb firmly and quickly for a full stroke actuation and sniff gently at the same time.

Re: Nasonex nose spray

I have been using Nasonex and Nasacort interchangibly for years. It is important to use as directed and not to over use it. I use it in conjunction with Cingulair for allergies and togethter they both work wonders. The over the counter sprays, amazingly enough are INCREDIBLY ADDICTIVE and I found myself using them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too often in the course of a day. the Rx stuff is much easier on breathing.

Re: Nasonex nose spray

Don't stick it all the way up your nose. Put it in enough so that it won't spray out and inhale GENTLY through your nose. Don't snort it up. The idea is to inhale the mist naturally.

Good luck.

PS That stuff has made my life so much better. I use it once a day and it stops me from having allergy attacks.
