Nassau summer recreation program
Has anyone tried the summer camp offered in the parks? How was it? I am registering my son at the Eisenhower Park summer program. Just wanted to get feedback... Thanks.

My son hated last summer and begged to stay home. There was not refund.

DS went to the Wantagh Park location last year and loved it. I look it as a no frills camp. A good value for the money. If cost was not a factor would I choose this camp - probably not. I would opt for something with more varied activities. But DS did not miss anything.
They played a lot of different types of ball games, swim everyday, played in the playgrounds, did a few basic art projects, and that's about it. He had two very nice counselors. Both college girls perusing education degrees. As it stands right now he is going again this year.

Maybe we just got bad counselors because all three boys that my I know who went there, do not want to go back.

I've also gotten a good review from a mom whose kids went to the Wantagh Park program. I would send my son there, but I don't want the swimming part (especially without me around) so I decided to try the Eisenhower Park program. Hope it works out okay...
