Natural Cleansing before Labor
So I was watching Laugh and Learn about Childbirth last night and the nurse/host mentioned that the your body naturally cleanses itself in preparation for labor. She said that if you have been having a lot of trouble going, ie constipated, then the day before you will notice it is much easier and if you have been having regular bowel movements throughout, then the day before you will have diarrhea.
For those that already have children, was this true or did anyone's doctor tell them this too??

You know this is interesting..because even though I have a son, I can't remember if this is true. Then again we are talking 16 years ago...
I'd be interested to know though because this is something I've thought about while on the bowl..

Oh yes, TMI WARNING: I pooped my brains out the weekend before I went into labor. And my skin broke out a little & I was craving water non-stop.

interesting, I have been soo thirsty the last couple of days, got some zits on my chin (and my skin has been wonderful during this pregnancy)... hmm pooping, I never have problems with that though

interesting, I have been soo thirsty the last couple of days, got some zits on my chin (and my skin has been wonderful during this pregnancy)... hmm pooping, I never have problems with that though
OK so if you have also been on a mad cleaning/nesting spree I'd double check your bag to make sure you have everything packed Cuz that was the final sign for me. I was cleaning the inside of my dryer with a q-tip (don't ask )

Wow that stinks that he could not get out of it. Did he tell them that you were like days away from delivering?
he postponed once already, so this time he had to go... I gave him some papers that my doctor gave me showing my due date, so we are hoping it will be enough to get out of it...

And all the girls who wanted a natural birth had a c-section.

for my first I definitely cleaned out my bottom the day before  and I had a constipation issue the entire time.
this time - I've had the opposite problem, so I have no idea if I will have a sign. The pimple part is interesting though - i will have to keep an eye out for those suckers.
One thing that makes me nervous is that I have absolutely NO nesting instinct right now. I could care less if I lived in squaller (well I guess since Dh has picked up house cleaning duties, I don't have to worry)
