Natural Progesterone Cream
Anyone ever use it? My levels are normal...not great but not bad either. At this point I will do ANYTHING to aid in my fertility
I found this online- Is this a rip off or worth a try????
"Progesterone plays a vital role in fertility and reproduction, supporting successful conception and pregnancy. Progesterone:
• Is thermogenic (raises body temperature). • Maintains the lining of the uterus for nurturing a fertilized ovum. • May makes the cervical mucus fertile and accessible by sperm. • May promote implantation and development of the fetus throughout pregnancy.
Natural Progesterone Cream (Nature's Precise Cream) is a safe, natural source of progesterone "

Re: Natural Progesterone Cream
Donna- there are A LOT of women that use NPC on that other board we chat on. I believe that it can't hurt...BUT know in advance that you should stop using it if you still get a BFN on the day AF is due. If you continue to use it, it could delay AF

Re: Natural Progesterone Cream
NPC ....I have strong views on the stuff :)
Most of what you read about npc is published by the companies that are selling the stuff. The "over the counter" cream you find at drugstores or vitamin stores SHOULD NOT BE USED TO ASSIST IN PREGNANCY. That stuff is to help with menopause symptoms not to help sustain a pregnancy. There isn't even enough progesterone in those creams. Some of it is made with wild yam, which actually doesn't convert to progesterone in your body. Sometimes a person also uses too little or too much. The cream gets absorbed by your fat tissue and ...there can be some negative side effects. As time goes on, the cream accumulates and contributes to disruptions in the adrenal hormones such as DHEA, cortisol, and testosterone. Once you start progesterone supplementation you need to continue it throughout at least the first trimester of "pg" until the placenta takes over. Some doctors, also want patients to stay on 16 -20 weeks. Dr. Beer, is a renowned Reproductive Immunologist...who believes in the help of supplementation but definitely not the cream.
Progesterone supplements are controversial. Dr. Saketos, calls them 'band-aids". I believe in them, as she was the one who first got me to use them. I believe they made a difference.
However, I would only use the prescription supplements and never the cream. The suppositories and the gel are the best. They are 'NATURAL'.
Progesterone suppositories are compounded by individual pharmacists and consist of natural progesterone suspended in a base similar to cocoa butter. The suppositories are better than the pill form of natural progesterone (prometrium). The suppositories melt from the warmth of the body and go directly to the uterus. They also, do not cause the side effects that the pills do, because they arent' being converted in the liver.
Band-aids don't cure a problem but they sure can help prevent a disaster from happening. (infection etc).

Re: Natural Progesterone Cream
Thanks all for the info! I have decided against it already due to not being sure I 100% needed it anyway.
