Nausea and work and food

How do you deal with the nausea and/or Morning sickness at work and getting ready in the morning. I am only at 5 weeks, but feel a little nausea and I can't eat anything.

I live on saltine crackers...I keep a sleeve at my desk at work and try and nibble a few as I'm getting ready for work.

GATORADE helped me get through my day!! I drank a glass before I got out of bed in the am. Saltines made it worse for me for some reason. I also constantly had something in my tummy.

I kept saltines in my night table drawer and as soon as my alarm went off I ate a few. I hated doing it but it really helped me to eat crackers before I even got out of bed.

Crakers were a life saver for me. I always had them with me.

I ate frequent but small bland meals and sipped water and or ginger ale or tea. Whatever I thought I could stomach I would eat and honestly it wasn't much... It will pass and when it does you will feel so great!

gatorade and pretzels! I work with a very smelly, dirty clientele, and let me tell you, when I was in the throws of MS I had a patient throw up everywhere in my government car, I almost jumped out of the car.

When my friend was pregnant she swore by ginger snaps.

Carbs! anything that was starchy helped me tremendously! I used to NOT want to eat anything but that made me feel worse, so I'd force myself to eat. That helped alot!

Re: Nausea and work and food

Ohhh I remember those days so vividly even though people say you forget. I had the worst case of 24/7 unbelievable nauseau that felt like the world's worst permanent hangover. I tried everything - ginger snaps, peppermint candies, crackers, ginger ale... what worked best for me was peppermint candies and I made sure I ate small, frequent meals. And for some reason what really helped was to eat greasy food. And I'm normally a very, very healthy eater... grilled cheese sandwiches were my lifesaver for the first trimester! If it gets really bad, you can ask your doctor about Zofran - it's an antinauseau pill that they give to chemo patients and now give to pregnant women with bad nauseau. They're REALLY expensive though (my insurance only covered 20 pills per month). I used them sparingly and only on days that were really bad and I had to be in court. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
