Nausea/vomiting
So much worse this time around. My life USED to revolve around food and now I can't stand eating anything. No matter what I eat I throw up. So miserable.

Nausea/vomiting
eat whatever you can. I ate pizza multiple times a day because that's all I could handle. And if it gets really bad do not be afraid to ask your Dr for something.

Re: Nausea/vomiting
You commented on my similar post about a month ago. Misery loves company, ergo I'm right 'there' with you, missy. the C-O-N-S-T-A-N-T nausea has been soooo debilitating, and is typically worse for me at night which has made getting a good night's sleep durn near impossible. Furthermore, I haven't had an appetite since week four, sensitively smell like a truffle hunting Wilbur through walls and doors, have experienced a near-constant sour taste on my tongue that won't go away even after a solid gag-inducing tongue brushing + have hypersensitive tastebuds. Additionally, for the first time in my LIFE...I'm constipated, could transport sailboats with my wind, am plagued with acid reflux and burp (and hiccup) like a frat boy constantly throughout the day. Oh and let's not forget the fatigue....oooh the fatigue.
Very little has helped with the 'cookie' issue, plus I've found that what does (minimally) help tends to change on a weekly or even daily basis. But I'll pass on my personal tips all the same.
P.S. I totes agree with alli3131. first and foremost EAT AND DRINK WHATEVER YOU CAN KEEP DOWN, even if its pure junk food.
WHAT HELPS MY NAUSEA....A LITTLE:
• CLEMENTINES. I ask my man to bring me peeled segments every morning/night. They're not as sweet as oranges (I swear most fruit now tastes like icky pure sugar to me), trick my tummy into thinking its downed something substantial + provide a little burst of moisture. (Caveat: I don't like that they make my already sour tongue even more sour, but they help take the edge of the nausea after nighttime bathroom trips and soothe my parched throat after urp sessions.)
• UNSWEETENED APPLESAUCE: If you tend to throw up before bedtime or during the night like me....eat a cup before you go to bed. And if you throw up in the mornings, eat a cup before you rise &/or after a night time trip to the loo. I used to put lemon juice on apple chunks but couldn't keep the apple down. Sauce is easier on tummies. (Supposedly fiber keeps us fuller for longer so lessens the nausea.)
• COOOOLD NATURAL FRUIT POPSICLES: Most warm foods make me feel even sicker. The colder the better.
• COOOLD STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKES: I was spooning Haagen Daaz strawberry ice-cream and had my man fetching me ($9!!!????) Bareburger shakes....but now summon the 'strength' to make my own. Blend your fruit of choice (strawberries, cherries, raspberries, canteloupes and oranges are all I can stomach at moment...I go for organic) with low-fat vanilla fro yo and a splash of milk. If I had my way, I'd eat/drink nothing but these all day. (Some studies suggest that women who eat more protein while pregnant experience less morning sickness. Dairy contains a lot of protein. Raspberries and strawberries contain fiber so are also supposedly natural nausea/indigestion combatters.)
• COOOLD GREEK YOGURT: doesn't reduce my nausea but it's one of the few foods I seem to be able to keep down. Maybe due to the protein?
• SUCKABLE/CHEWABLE CANDY: normally I eat little sugar and most foods these days are tasting 5x as sweet, so bizarre as it sounds, if I am feeling like I just can't physically eat anything yet....especially if I've just thrown up....sucking on tart or cinnamon-y candy does help me sometimes temporarily. Maybe it's a placebo effect, dunno....treats like hot tamales, nerds, sour balls, starbursts, lemonheads, etc. (My man doesn't know I buy these sometimes. He hates artificial ingredients! Shhhh! Don't tell him I hide them underneath my side of the bed!!!)
WHAT HELPS ACID REFLUX + TUMMY GRUMBLING:
• APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: I no longer like the smell or taste of vinegar, but I swear on the holy unabridged dictionary that apple cider vinegar will get rid of that nasty acidic burning in your throat within minutes (!!!) and it's safe for pregnant women. Down a couple of capfuls. Chase them with a glass of water if the flavor is too much for you or add (non-raw, pasturized) honey. (Even if you throw up some of the former, the vinegar gets to work quickly, so you'll still experience the benefits.) I find that it also helps get rid of most of my stomach rumbles too.
WHAT HELPS MY CONSTIPATION:
• KELLOGG'S RAISIN BRAN...with 0%-1% milk: After a six day 'dry' spell I was desperate. Cold cold milk makes it palatable, plus the raisins contain a lot of iron. It usually works same-day for me. ; )
WHAT DOES NOT HELP /NO LONGER HELPS:
• SALTINES • LEMON • LEMONADE • GINGER anything • PREGNANCY NAUSEA TEAS • MINT • CARBONATED ANYTHING • B6 (edit!) • SEABANDS (edit!) • WHEN FRIENDS & FAMILY TELL ME IT WILL ALL BE OVER SOON AND THAT 'IT' WILL ALL BE WORTH IT! (I'm sure I'll feel that way at the 'end'....but these days I'm happy to make it through one.....more....day....)

Haha, it's worth it the first time around but there isn't a chance in hell I'd ever do it again. I was pregnant this time last year and the memory of laying on the bathroom floor pale and dehydrated for hours on end hasn't faded.
OP- Zofran. I'm fairly certain I would have died without it.

I used to say the same thing! NEVER again! Well, here I am pregnant with #2 and I've been asking if I can donate my ovaries and uterus because I am SO done I don't need them anymore! I have been hospitalized twice this pregnancy for dehydration and had at home IV car for almost a month - even had to have a picc line put in because my veins would collapse.
To the OP - I agree that medication can help. At first, maybe try B6 and Unisom - it's the same thing as the prescription your doctor will give you called Diglesis (sp?). IF that doesn't work, then speak to your doctor. Zofran has saved me with both pregnancies.
Options for drinking - 2 things that helped me - but remember everyone is different and you have to find what helps you - was buying juice boxes and freezing them (then eating them like an ice - nutritionist told me to do this) and adding those ice tea packets to water bottles. Plain water made me worse so adding the iced tea packets helped.
Eating - Find what works for you. Don't worry about weight gain. That will even out. If you have to eat carbs first thing in the morning or right before bed to help, then do so.
Good luck! And ALWAYS speak to your doctor if you are having any problems or want to start some OTC meds. We don't know your medical history and some suggestions might not be in your best interest.

Re: Nausea/vomiting
Jolly rancher hard candies. Saltines. Lots of water with lemon, and eating something small first thing in the AM helped a bit. Also, not letting myself get too hungry, or too full. It was like walking a tight rope between the two.
Oh, sucking on mints helped, too.

2 eggs cooked (or hard boiled) on whole wheat bread is helpful in the morning. Flavored oatmeal mixed with regular oatmeal. Greek yogurt. Cheese on ritz. Stuff that sticks in you but not overly greasy. Don't go too long without eating.

Re: Nausea/vomiting
I've been eating bagels like nobody's business. Pretzel sticks, pizza, cheese and crackers, and simple soups like ramen are other foods I can handle. I like to drink juice boxes- Ella's Kitchen, they have aloe which is hydrating and only have 5 sugars per serving; I get them at Target.
I have to chew slowly and eat small meals, or more like snacks. Don't let yourself get too hungry and have snacks handy.
