NC girls... any suggestions on a trip to the mountains???
We have lived here for almost 11 years and we still have not been to the mountains. LOL!
I was thinking of going for a weekend to celebrate our Anniversary this year. Can anyone recommend parts of the mountains that are romantic and that we would enjoy? I've heard so many good things about several areas, but am still clueless as to where. Hiking and stuff like that is out since I'm PG. Thanks!

OMG! get out there girl!
Asheville-great bars and restaurants. we love tupelo honey The Biltmore is fantastic! Vineyars, great restaurant. Last year we hit up sliding rock 3 times in the summer, once a month. In the Pisgah forest. Waterfall...then a trail that leads to another little waterfall.
Bryson City, Smokey Mountains, Tsali. about 4 hours from charlotte. this is where we camp. Fun. rafting, biking, tubing, great smokey mountain railroad.
Tennesse- Gaitlinburg..ehh..did not care for it much, same as pigeon forge.
Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock...we go up there for skiing. But summers are so nice as well. Tons of condos you can rent out in summer since they are mainly for skiing.

We just got back from an anniversary weekend in Asheville and we had such an amazing time! We didn't end up going to the Biltmore because it was $60 per person and it wasn't worth it to us, but the town itself is so so so much fun!!! We had an amazing dinner out on Saturday night at a French place called Bouchon (they don't take reservations, but we didn't have to wait when we arrived at 5:30).
The town is super cute! DH did a segway tour (maybe you saw my post... preggos + segways = dizzy blackouts... not so good) and had so much fun. They also have trolly tours all over town. It's a really quaint place -- kinda hippy-ish.
It was about a 4-hour drive from Cary if that makes a difference.
Sorry I don't have info about anywhere else. We also love Topsail Island if you'd rather go to the beach.
