Neck control and sitting up...

When do they get good neck control and when can they pretty much sit up on their own? I swear DD will be sitting up by next week at the rate she is going. Her neck control is great. We can no longer put her over our shoulder and expect her to go to sleep, we turn our head and she is staring at us. She will not put her head down. When I have her on my stomach, the head is up in the air, not dropping at all, staring and looking all around the room. in her bouncy or swing she lifting her head. And sitting up, she is trying to sit up on her own and if I give her my fingers, she grabs them with her hands and seriously pulls herself up. Is this all normal?? I am not ready for all this...she is growing up WAY toooo fast and she is only a little over two months!!

Kaitee was born holding her head up and starting sitting tripod style at 3 1/2 months and could sit on her own a few days shy of 5 months (no falling over). Chelsea was also born being able to hold her own head up. She starting being able to sit for about 30 seconds at a time (with no support) by 2 months. Now at 3 1/2 months she can sit for 2 or 3 minutes at a time. She arches her back when she smiles (thats why she falls).

My son had great neck control from birth too and he sat up on his own, VERY early..he started with the tripod sitting up at 3 and 1/2 months and by 4 and 1/2 months was totally sitting up with no help . But he has yet to even want to crawl etc...so he was fast in one regard and seems to be lazy in others. LOL

OMG, I am in such amazment here..we put her on her playmat and she immediately put her hands down and lifted her head up and then proceeded to kick her feet to try and go, she just couldn't get her hip and tummy up.

Wow, the first two months were difficult with the no sleep and figuring everything out, now that her formula is straightened out I have this whole new baby. It is soooo amazing what a difference a month makes. I want ten more now!!
