Need a bulletin board idea
I have my outside bulletin board due on the 25th. This year I have a 6th grade ESL group. So eventhough it is 6th grade, they are on a 4th grade level. I don't want to do something too primary since it is a middle school...but all the other ideas I had are a bit too hard for them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Need a bulletin board idea
I'm having my kids set goals in an essay. Perhaps for your ESL kids you can have then do in a goal statement with a bulleted list of how they can achieve them.

Re: Need a bulletin board idea
I just did an "all about me" bulletin board with my Middle School ESL. I gave them 5 different shapes, and on each shape they were responsible for putting something different. Like, on the heart, they had to put 5 or more things they love. On the square, they had to put "If I were an animal, I'd be ________ because ___________ and draw the picture. the circle they labeled food and dividied it into 2 columns, Yuck! :( and Yum! :) and list 5 foods for each. The triangle they labeled "I know how to...." and they had to list 5 or more things they know how to do. The rectangle was my favorite because i made it look like a comic strip and titled it "my life in pictures". They had to draw a picture or object to show an important event in there lives in each box. We glued all the shapes onto those posterboards that come 5 in a pack, and put their picture in the middle. THe kids really enjoyed it and we were all surprised by our answers. The kids were all shocked that I hate ice cream, and I was shocked when I saw one student put that she knows how to tap dance, and was even more shocked when she put on a show in the classroom!
I was afraid the posters might be too babyish, but they really enjoyed doing it, and I teach 6,7, and 8.
