Bruschetta(sp) on those little toasted pieces of bread. Cheese and crackers. Salsa and chips.

Oooh, bruschetta is good, although DH won't eat it because he hates onions and tomatoes. Oh well, too bad for him!
Anyone else?

Re: Need a good cold appetizer recipe.....
Made a really good one last night from WW but doesn't taste like it also a little spicy but you can control that. Bought a loaf of rerigerated french bread baked that. Cut into thin pieces toast the pieces. Rub with raw garlic. Mix 1 TB LF mayo, 1 TB LF sr crm a granny smith apple finely chopped and horseradish, squeezed dry. I love spicy food but you can adjust the spiciness depending on how much horseradish you use. Buy some good roast beef like boarshead sliced thick. Mix up you sr crm apple mixture, spread on toast top with roast beef. Very good DH loved it and couldn't believe it was weight watchers

Re: Need a good cold appetizer recipe.....
you could roll deli meats and cheeses and stick toothpicks in them, or wrap them in tortilla wraps (flavored ones)
spinach dip is usually popular

bruschette is actually the term for the bread, not that tomato topping...
You can make a bean brushcetta or an eggplant bruschetta- I once did 3 different bruschettas as an appy- white bean & kalamata olive, eggplant (roasted) and then traditional tomato basil.

Re: Need a good cold appetizer recipe.....
1.) go to costco 2.) buy the assorted sushi platter 3.) take off plastic cover 4.) enjoy!
I do really like those, though. I often do a crudite and do a few different dips - a ranch, some type of hummus and maybe a bean dip.
I also have a recipe at home for what my mom called shrimp mousse - it is like a creamy mold with shrimp in it. You prepare it ahead of time, refrigerate and serve cold with crackers. I can post it later if you are interested.

OK- here it is:
Shrimp Mousse 1 can tomato soup (I only use Campbells) 1 envelope unflavored gelatin 3/4 cup finely chopped celery 3/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 cup mayonaise 1 large package cream cheese - softened 3 cans small size shrimp (well drained)
Boil soup (do not dilute). Dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup hot water and add to soup, with softened cream cheese and other ingredients. Mix well and turn into an oiled mold. Refrigerate for four hours - remove from mold and serve.
We usually serve it with cracked wheat crackers, and this stuff gets scarfed up whenever I make it. DH is allergic to shrimp, so I have also made it with crabmeat instead of shrimp and substitute the shrimp with the same amount of crabmeat. I also have a Tupperware jello mold, which makes it really easy to get out of the mold - you can remove the center of it.
Let me know if you make it
