Need a holiday/birthday gift idea for Dad ...
He has no hobbies ... he doesn't need any new tools ... He's not really into music ... or movies ... or, well, anything actually ...
And its his birthday AND chanukah too!

Re: Need a holiday/birthday gift idea for Dad ...
I was going to get my Dad a remote starter for his car, but he doesn't want it now
my default gift for him is a Best Buy GC. at least I know it will get used, and it doesn't expire. I really hate giving GC's though. so boring

Re: Need a holiday/birthday gift idea for Dad ...
The carwash stuff might work, or at least a GC to one ... hmmmm ....
He's not even a techie guy, he isn't really into the stuff they have at Best Buy ... Ugh!!!
I was thinking about either baking him a few different kinds of cookies, cupcakes, etc ...
Or giving him homemade "certificates" for cookies, cupcakes, etc. that he can redeem when he wants throughout the year ...
I can't decide if that's lame or not.
I don't mind spending money on a gift, I wouldn't be doing that because of not wanting to spend money ... I just can't think of good ideas!

I mentioned the idea to DH, he thinks a remote starter might be a strong contender ...

That's a great idea! You could even work that in with a a few car washes and have a little car theme going!

Also, there's always a GC for a nice detail. Most people don't treat themselves to a detail but it is a really nice thing that they enjoy as a gift.
(A detail for the car, I mean... interior and exterior - makes it like new!)
