Need a locksmith!
Does anyone have a rec for a locksmith? I'm in Valley Stream, if it makes a difference...
We need to have a few things done - change the locks and have a doorknob replaced - we can't open our front door from the inside. The stupid doorknob fell off in my hand the night we closed.

these are things you can totally do yourself, we did. Its not worth paying somebody.

I agree. We did this ourselves using door knobs/locks we bought at Home Depot.
ETA: We were going to use a locksmith, but they were charging an enourmous fee just to change two locks!

We can't do them ourselves - the front door (the one without an inside doorknob) is an antique and needs to be specially done.
If we could have saved the money by doing it ourselves, we totally would have.

Call the place I mentioned above. The rates weren't bad at all, I was really surprised.
