Re: Need a macaroni salad recipe
8oz. box of elbow macaroni 1 cup of Hellmans 1 tbsp of Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon of sugar 1/4 tsp of pepper 1/2 tsp salt red pepper green pepper onion celery
Cook the pasta..run under cold water til its cold. Add mayo, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Then mix in veggies..I play this by ear and finely chop as much as I want in there, usually I go heavy on the onion. Mix it all well and refridgerate for at least an hour or two.

Re: Need a macaroni salad recipe
I like using McCormick Salad Supreme. There is a recipe on the jar and I like to throw in chunks of mozarella and pepperoni

Re: Need a macaroni salad recipe
I found this in a magazine last year...it's soooo delicious! Lots of ingredients, but so worth it.
Coarse salt 1 lb elbow macaroni 1 1/4 cups frozen petite peas 2 celery stalks, thinly sliced crosswise 3 scallions, white and pale green parts, plus 1 inch of dark green part, thinly sliced diagonally 6 oz black forest ham or other dry-cured ham, cut into 1/4 inch dice 1 cup mayo 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tspn white wine vinegar 3/4 tspn sugar 1/4 tspn ground nutmeg Freshly ground pepper
1. Bring large pot of water to a boil; add salt. Add macaroni; cook until al dente. Drain. Rinse with cold water, and drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate until cool.
2. Thaw peas under cold running water. Drain. Toss with celery, scallions, and ham in a bowl. Add to macaroni; toss.
3. Whisk mayo, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, nutmeg and 1/4 tspn of salt; fold into macaroni mixture. Season with salt and pepper.

Re: Need a macaroni salad recipe
I usually make it with:
1 box of elbows celery onions petite shrimps mayo evaporated mill salt & pepper
I put the mayo in a bowl and whisk in the evaporated milk until it is pourable. I use this instead of vinegar, and I find it doesn't have the "bite" it has from the vinegar. The baby shrimp is a nice change, if the people you'll be serving like shrimp. Everything else is to taste, and just mix it all together.
