Need a Midwife rec. for Nassau.
HAS to be Nassau as I had my first child in 4 hours and was at the hospital for only 45 minutes before she was out! Anyway, I had 1 appt. with a Dr. and I hated him and decided that a midwife is the route I wish to take. BAsically all I got from my first appt. was a gyno. visit...and today the bill for the lab...what on earth did I pay him for?
Anyway...does anyone have some rec.'s or experiences to share? I found one item on NYCWeddings...and it was awful...unfortunately, it was one of the midwives on my insurance's list of covered midwives! I actually found that by googling the midwife and I got a thread on NYCWeddings!

Does your insurance have a listing? I wish I was in NY and had a recommendation for you. I was thrilled with a midwife birth.

I had a great experience with Melanie Sumersille - she's a midwife at the Garden City OB-GYN practice on Stewart Ave - Dr. Plancher's office.

My OB's practice in New Hyde Park has a midwife, if you want her info, let me know.
