Need a new cell phone...Apple IPhone 3G...please tell me the good and the bad...
is it worth it? I don't really go online that much but if I had it I prob would...does the internet work well on it etc?
Its between this and just a quick messaging phone for around the same cost..

The 3G can do so much more than just a phone. I used mine as my ipod and once you have it you may end up on the internet more oftern. It is really a mini computer and I used it like one.

is $49 a good price? The thing is...I have a 2 year contract and not sure that the phone will last that long.
Also...I text a lot and never used full touch screens...is it hard to get used to?

$49 is a good price. You can't get any other iphone for anything near that and if you do not care if you do not have the latest model then I would get it.

The touch screen does take a little getting used to, but you will. I did NOT want the phone and DH "made" me get it. Now I love it! I use the internet all the time, and can check my email. Love the Facebook app, and I listen to Pandora all day at work (and during my commute). I use it wayyy more than I thought I would.

Thank you so much...sounds liek there is no bad! Other than I always have to have the data plan...one last q...(SORRY) is the minimum $15 per month data plan enough? This is with ATT..

The 5 is coming in October. I'd bet good money that the 4 will come down in price at that time. I'd wait, if you can.

Honestly - I would wait until October when the 5 comes out and get the 4 for probably $49.

I would still get the 3. Can't stand the 4 and can not wait until the 5 comes out. I miss my 3gs :(

Best Buy was offering the iPhone 3G for free a few weeks ago with a 2yr contract. Check to see if any other stores have this offer. As others have mentioned the 4G or 5 is going to be released soon so they are trying to get rid of the current 3G inventory. Prior to after the release the iPhone 4 will be offered at a discount rate as well.
