Need a place to donate clothing....
I am looking for a place to donate all of the clothes that I want to get rid of before moving. Does anyone know of a place that take donations and would give you a receipt? I am in Hauppauge but willing to travel a bit. I just want to get rid of these bags of clothes. Thanks!

I donate them to Goodwill. There are stores around. I go to the one in Bellmore. There are also locations in Patchogue, Northport and Centereach. You can drop your clothes there and they give you a receipt.

Vietnam Veterans will come to your house too. They are the ones that leave the yellow plastic bag. They will leave you a receipt in your mailbox if asked.

This is where I go as well. It's so great to just drop it off there (and get the tax deduction, too)!

We usually call them to pick up our stuff as well.
