Need a place to eat in the city
DH & I are going into the city on Sat with som friends to Comic Strip Live on Second Ave (Between 81st & 82nd). We are taking the train in earlier & want to have dinner before the show which is at 8pm (doors open at 730). We need somewhere good but reasonable.

Re: Need a place to eat in the city
That is my old hood What kind of food do you want? There is all you can eat sushi there, which is good, and cheap. The only thing is the lines get long prior to the comedy shows... Also, my favorite restaurant Penang, which is Malaysian, is awesome and right there as well. Lots of choices, depends on what you want and how far you are willing to walk.

No sushi or Malysian. Steak or Italian? Since there will be 5 of us.....somewhere with a choice of different foods?

Ok Thanks, I just googled it & got the info. I will run it by the rest of the group going but any other possibilities would be great too.

I love Canyon Road. It's on 2nd ave between 76th and 77th. It's Mexican. Great prices and atmosphere. Make a reservation though...

Canyon Road is fantastic. Very good margaritas Another place is Lenox Room on Lex and 74th. Also, there's Loui Loui, a nice Italian place, on 3rd Ave.

Re: Need a place to eat in the city
I used to live there too--there were somany restaurants to choose from---
My favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant is Zucchero e Pomodori which is located at 11731 2nd Ave between 75th and 76th on the West side of the street. It is reasonably priced also...
Toni's is always an option too, if you want family style... I had my 30th B0day there when I lived in the city...

Re: Need a place to eat in the city
Zucchero e Pomodori on 2nd is VERY good, nice atmosphere, and not too expensive.
If you don't have dinner in the city often, and you don'thave a big group to please - skip Tony DiNapoli .....it's nothing to brag about as far as Italian cuisine goes, and the atmosphere is kind of playground-ish

Re: Need a place to eat in the city
I live in the neighborhood and Canyon Road is my absolute favorite place. (but as others have said, make a res).
Tony DiNapoli is good Italian but it's family style so better for groups. A warning on Zucchero E Pomodori - I live across the street and they just knocked down all of the bldgs next to it so as much as I used to love it, I havent been back for fear that they stirred up "creatures" (maybe im crazy but better to be safe A GREAT Italian is Spigolo on 82nd(?) & 2nd but you must make a res.
Atlantic Grill is awesome for seafood but on the pricier side. Turqouise is as well (and that's very close to where you'll be).
