Need a quick answer regarding DC & dental insurance

Today is the deadline for sumbitting our 2009 insurance picks. DH and I are unsure if we should get dental for AJ. He is 11 months now. This is separate from our medical coverage.

What age were your DC when you added them onto your dental coverage?

Mine all had coverage from birth and I am SO glad that they did. My oldest chipped a tooth when he was about 16 months old, and the dentist was able to "fix" it (file it down a bit so it was not sharp)

GET IT!!!

I assumed I wouldn't need it until Alex turned 3 so I didn't sign her up for 2008.

Wouldn't you know it, a few months ago, while running, she tripped, fell and banged her teeth on the floor.

4 weeks later her two front teeth started turning gray. Turns out she had nerve damage.

THANK GOD it was ok, but the dentist warned us that it could get worse, turn black, at which time they would have to extract the teeth and do a root canal

I did not add DS on this year, but I am going to add him for 2009. He is currently 13 months and it is literally a few dollars per month extra for me to add him.

I say it's probably always good to have it in case you need to take DC!

I plan to add miki to mine in November.

I would add him now. I think the guidelines of when their visit dentist visit should be are changing. It used to be 2 and now they say around 12 months.
