Need a Recommendation for a Pediatric Plastic Surgeon
DD needs to have a mole removed and I am looking for recommendations for a pediatric plastic surgeon.. Anyone have one they recommend-- Was also planning on asking my Ped.

When I was sixteen I had a mole removed from my face. My dermatologist highly recommended Dr. Nabil Kiridly of Smithtown and Patchogue (Two Locations). He was EXCELLENT.
I have literally no scar, and it was taken from an area of my face where if you look at me dead on, it could have left an indent -- but because he was SO amazing, it is smooth and flush with my face shape. He is wonderful.
I went again recently to him for another mole on my face. Forgot how fantastic he was!

Need a Recommendation for a Pediatric Plastic Surgeon
My son had major plastic surgery done on his face by dr dasilva. He was so good with my son!!! I believe he's in east north port.

Dr. Eric Mager in rockville centre removed a mole on my daughter when she was 5. i thought he did a good job, and it was over qiuckly. done at south nassau.

Just curious for those who have said their kids had to have moles removed at a young age, why do they have to be removed?

I can't speak for anyone else but mine, I was older, was bc I didn't like it and especially on my face. But when I saw the doc he told me he did many children Bc they were irregular in shape or whatever medically and they wanted to send them out for biopsy to be safe.

We've used Dr. Staffenberg at NYU and would never go elsewhere, ever. Google him. The guy is amazing.

for my dd, they biopsied it, and the type of mole comes up looking very much like melanoma in pathology. so even though its benign they want to remove it in case it turns into melanoma. wasn't much of a choice in that case.

I was told to have it removed bc as DD gets older (esp pre teen etc. and the introduction of hormones) there is a likelihood that it can turn into melanoma - also as she gets older the mole will also get larger and thus any potential scar from removal when she is older will be worse than if she were to have it removed now. This is for a mole thatshe was born with.

We used Dr. Fuentes from Huntington. I never met him, but my husband handled those appointments with my 5 yr old and he said he was amazing. He was recommended to us by several friends who have worked with him at Good Sam for ER situations with children.
