It's not sushi but Gino's in Bethpage on hemptstead tpke has very good food

There isnt great sushi places around that area-IMO--there is Hama on Old Country Road which is ok--I really like Red Fish!!!(not sushi)

It does not have to be sushi or in Plainview, just around that area or a little east of it.
What type of food is Red Fish?

Hama Sushi is great! its in the hollywood video parking lot in plainview on the corner of old country and woodbury/plainview road.
i love their volcano roll1

In Bethpage there is Blue Ocean for Sushi. On Jericho Tpke there is Hagashi. That's in Syosset. Both are very good sushi places.
In Plainview there is the Main Event. Big place that's sports oriented but they have an excellent menu and great bar. Not sports bar like, more family oriented.
Red Fish in Plainview used to be great but lately I find it not so great.
Buteras is in Woodbury and is excellent. Great Italian Food.
There is another sushi place in Plainview and I'm trying to remember the name...ah..Kumo sushi on Manetto Hill Rd. Very good.
