Need a tutor in Queens
I am up for a new job at my work and if I get it that means that I have to work 11-7. The DH and my mom are not the greatest at doing homework and none of us have the patience that a tutor would have. It is for my daughter, she is 6 years old in the 1st grade. I would need her homework completed, help with her reading and some review so that she doesnt forget what she already knows. Maybe a college student or something. Please anyone let me know. Thank you.

My Mom is a 3rd grade teacher and also has many teacher friends. She lives in Middle Village. FM me if you want me to ask for you.

My sister is a teacher in Bayside, she does tutoring..... you know it is pricey to get a regular tutor... I used to make $65.00 for an hour and a half, back in 1994!!

Re: Need a tutor in Queens
If you want a certified teacher it's at least $75. an hour... and yes, that's for elementary. I have tutored high school AP courses and I charge at least $90 which is what many of my friends charge. Believe it or not I've had to turn jobs down at that price because I just didn't have enough time.

Re: Need a tutor in Queens
The price is definately up there. I'm a certified teacher and I don't tutor anymore, but used to charge between $50-60/hr depending on what I was tutoring, and I was a lot cheaper then any other tutors I knew.
I'd recommend calling a local college to see if they can hook you up with a college student. It would most likely be a lot cheaper and it would be great experience for education students.
