Need Advice - Is baby sick?
Hey ladies!! DS has been waking up the past few mornings and his breathing has sounded funny. He sounds like he just smoked 3 packs of cigarettes - very congested sounding...
His nose has also been stuffy and, now that i think about it, his eating and sleeping habits are off. He sounds fine as the day progresses but it's like when we have a cold as adults...sometimes everything settles in our chest during the course of the night.
Should i call the pediatrician? Do you think he's sick?

when in doubt, call the doctor! better to be safe than sorry.
DD had a fever last night and i thought it was b/c of teething.. took her to the dr and turns out she has an ear infection!

Re: Need Advice - Is baby sick?
As long as the baby isn't running a fever, I personally wouldn't bother with the Dr. I would set up a humidifier in his room and see if that helps. A lot of times everything settles in their chest while they are lying down and a humidifier will help loosen that all up.

I took DS to the dr. 2x because of this and he is STILL congested. As long as there is no fever, they say he is ok. We prop his mattress, have the vaporizer, and I do the nasal aspirator/saline drops. I think he's teething on top of it. Lots of drool. We go tomorrow for a check up so, we will see.

I would call the doctor. DD sounded like that and was NOT running a fever. She ended up having RSV and needing to be hospitalized. I think its better to be safe than sorry. That's what they are there for

Re: Need Advice - Is baby sick?
I would definitely call the doctor. Not every respiratory illness is accompanied by a fever.
There is no reason your child should ever be wheezing.
Hope he's better soon!
