Need advice - what to say to friend/coworker

My co-worker, whom Im closest with at work, just dragged me outside crying to tell me she had a miscarriage. I was like a bumbling idiot, and just said Im sorry, like a million times.

I knew yesterday that she might be miscarrying, after a week of ups and downs with her OB. She might have been pregnant, might not have been at all, may have been PG and then miscarried. She was a nervous wreck yesterday but her Dr confimed the MC today.

What should I say or do? Ive never been in this position.

I know from on here to NOT say things like, well everything happens for a reason, at least you know you can get pregnant. But all I had was "Im sorry".

Shes back in her cube and I can hear her sniffling. I have convinced her to take the rest of the day off after lunch.

What can I do for her?

I've never been in her shoes... but I think there is nothing wrong with going to her and asking if she wants to talk, or just giving her a hug. I wouldn't know what to say either

Having gone through more than I care to recount, just tell her you are there for her if she needs to talk and leave it at that.

I've never been in her shoes... but I think there is nothing wrong with going to her and asking if she wants to talk, or just giving her a hug. I wouldn't know what to say either
