Need advice
I am 15 1/2 weeks. I like my dr, but I am having some problems. I called her on Monday because I was throwing everything up, and I have a pain where my esophagus(spelling!) is. She said that its probably just a virus, but if the symptoms persist or worsen, to call her. She said something about gall bladder problems. She called back within a couple of hours on Monday.
I called again on Weds, because even though I stopped throwing up, I was all of a sudden very nauseous, and the pain was still there (maybe even a little worse). I called about 12:30 on Weds and have yet to hear anything back. Thankfully, the pain has gone away.
This is not the first time this has happened. This is the third time that I have not heard back from the dr. And all of them, at least I thought, were decent concerns. Also, for my ultrascreen, I was scheduled for what they had told me would be 14 weeks, 2 days. I called there two times to double check that this was okay (because they say no later than 13/6) And they all said yes, the dr likes to do it then. I spoke once with the secretary, and once with the nurse. Turns out, when I went in, luckily I was only 13 weeks 6 days, and the dr said if I would have come later, they prob couldn't have done it. She said that I was given the wrong info.
My question---should I switch drs? This is just something that is bugging me? Also, if you suggest I switch, any recommendations? I like in Western Suffolk!
Thanks---sorry its so long!

Re: Need advice
If you are not comfortable with your Dr and also do not feel confident about their quality of care, I owuld definitely switch. Pregnancy is hard enought, and if you can't count on your Dr when you need them, that only adds more stress. My Dr is in Bethpage and I love them. FM me if you want the info.
Good luck!

I would leave a doc if I didnt get immediate attention esp while PG! That is me though.
I also have a doc in Bethpage.
I had a minor discharge that concerned me and within an hr I got 3 calls and they followed up the next day and contacted me everywhere I was to see if I was ok. Luckily it was nothing but that made me happy how they treated me.

Re: Need advice
Thanks! Thats what a drs office should do. Get back to you in a timely manner. To me, 48 is not a timely matter, especially when she said on Monday that she was concerned about gallbladder problems.
How do you go about changing Dr's? I have my level II Christmas week. Do I go to that? Or will another office do that?
