need advice for clomid
ok girls this is going to be my 3rd cycle on clomid, and i really don't wanna do it. I get so dizzy i cant drive and hot flashes that wake me up at night i feel like im in menopause. And thats only from 2 pills a day they want to increase it to 3! they are afraid of a multiple pregnacy with the other medications like injections, but I dont know if I can deal with the sideffects of the clomid.. what would you do?

I had dizziness and hot flashes too. Also vision trails.... in the end it was all worth it.

I was on 150mg of Clomid last month and didn't really find the side effects any worse than on 100mg from the month before, but I didn't have the side effects you did. Just the hot flashes, psycho mood swings and some abdominal pain.
I am starting injectables this month (tonight actually - once the Rx gets delivered). The Clomid didn't work the way we wanted it to.
Are you doing IUIs? They say there is an even more increased risk of multiples on Follistim, but I read in the PDR today that the stats are 8% chance of multiples. That is around the same as what I have seen for Clomid. I'm not as well-versed as the other ladies on here, but I don't see the problem with injectables. They seem to be commonly used.

I guess I don't get it because you still get multiple follies on clomid. I used to get 3 follies with clomid and 3 follies with Gonal-F. I hated clomid but I didn't have the side effects that you do. I would try injectibles. They can control your dose and monitor you closely. How many follies have you been getting with your past clomid cycles?

I didnt ovulate on my last cycles even with the bad side effects, I have PCOS so its really hard to try and get pg without anything

I didn't have any success with clomid at 50 or 100mg. 150 did the trick for me though. It can't hurt to ask your RE about injectibles, although I think most will encourage you to try a higher does of clomid.

Good luck! 150mg clomid+IUI is what worked for me!

Will they give you a trigger shot this cycle. They didn't do them for me when I was on clomid except for round 3. I was having trouble with the OPK and new I was going to miss my LH surge. So, to be sure they gave me an hCG shot. Not that that worked for me, nothing is, but I would ask about it if you are not Ovulating.

Can you take your Clomid at a different time of day ? I used to take mine at night and slept through as many of the side-effects that I could...

I always took my Clomid at night...maybe that's why I never had issues? 
Either way...everyone has the chance of having multiples on injectables. Is there any reason why they think the you would be much more likely to have multiples? Or is there a reason why they would be concerned for you to have mulitiples?

I had terrible, terrible side effects from Clomid and even the 150mg didn't make me grow follies. I switched to injectibles and after the first cycle (which was cancelled b/c I made 9 follies) I had success with producing 3-5 follies each time after that - after they learned how I responded. Only you can decide how much of the side effects you can deal with. I know for me I had little to no side effects from injectibles and felt so much better. If you have more questions let me know

I was only able to handle 2 rounds of Clomid because of side effects so I moved on to injections. There are other options beside Clomid. You should have a serious chat with your RE about it.

I took it at night too. I still had hot flashes, but it was never anything terrible.
Also about the multiple thing - there is a chance of multiples on clomid too...

Yuck not only did I have all of the same side effects as you did but I also broke out in hives The RE believes that my body was fighting against it for some reason and that is why, in the end it didn't work. I only did one course of it and then moved to injectables. The injectables have been much more effective.
There is a risk of multiple births with any IF treatment involving meds.

yeah i'm not sure why they think me personally is so high risk factor for multiples maybe its because of my age. But I have an appointment tomorow with my RE and i'm going to talk to them about it again.
