Need advice from moms

hello ladies!!

I could really use some advice on strollers/travel systems. I am trying to figure out if I should or need to register for a travel system and stoller or if I should register for an infant carseat/snap and go and a separate stroller. Also, what stroller/travel system did you register for? I am completely clueless. Any advice/feeback/thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!Chat Icon

Re: Need advice from moms

I registered for the Graco Travel System. DD is 4 1/2 months and I have yet to use the stroller part. It is so much easier to snap the infant carrier into the snap and go. If I were to do it again I would have just registered for the infant seat and then a lightweight stroller that reclines for when DD is older.

Re: Need advice from moms

I prefer the sep stroller (I have the Ingelsina Zippy) and the carseat/snap n go combo (much easier to get around with).

Re: Need advice from moms

With the advice of many moms here I opted for an infant carseat and the snap and go and then a bigger stroller/carriage. I got a little "registry happy" and never expected to get everything, so I also have a mclaren for the future. Probably a little overboard. Right now (DS is 11 weeks) I use the snap and go when I am out and about and the stroller/carriage for daily walks.
HTH! Good luck!

I should get on the payroll for Snap and Go--IMO, one of the best baby products! I don't know why anyone wouldn't want one! It is so light--there's no such stroller that is as compact and lightweight. I was depressed when I finally had to use my real stroller. If you're interested in a travel system pattern or the price is better or whatever, I would still get the stroller frame and use them separately.

I have the Graco SnugRide, the Snap and Go and the Peg Perego Pliko P3

Re: Need advice from moms

I only have the Snap & Go so far and love it.

We'll look for a regular stroller when DS gets bigger.

Re: Need advice from moms

The travel systems are too bulky for me-I test drove them in the store and it's just too much for me.

I have used the snap and go since the start, and still do (DD is 9.5 months old).

I have a Metrolite that I will transition to this once DD is no longer in her snug ride.

Re: Need advice from moms

I didn't get a travel system b/c IMO they are just bulky..I never would have used that big stroller and the infant seat together b/c I'm lazy. Instead, I got the lightest graco infant seat to use w/the snap & go. I also didn't like any of the travel system styles, so I just got a stroller I liked the look of. I ended up w/the bumbleride, and I love it. But I don't love it for short quick trips. I definitely think I need an umbrella stroller now.

TOTALLY AGREE 100%. Snap and Go in the smartest baby invention! Makes life soo easy.

I only use my big peg pergo at parties or for walks now that DS is more alert and sits up better.

I am so sad that soon he will outgrow his snugride and the snap and go will go with it!

Re: Need advice from moms

We had/have the Graco Snugride & the snap & go, which I used ALL the time. It was the best when DD was an infant. I also registered for/received the matching travel system, which DH calls the stroller part the cadillac. It's HUGE. We did use it since we live in a city and I used it on walks. But I ended up getting the Peg Perego Pliko P3, which I LOVE and use much more. The big Graco was a pain to lug in & out of the trunk, etc. I definitely did not need the big Graco travel system stroller.

Re: Need advice from moms

Snap and go for everday.

Stroller for walks or for when we'll be out for long periods of time. DS gets uncomfortable after a while in the carseat.

Re: Need advice from moms

Have the Graco Quattro Tour travel system, the snap and go and we just bought the Maclaren Quest. The graco stroller stays at the babysitter's house and we use the snap and go. DD is nearly out of her infant seat because she's enormous so we bought the Maclaren rather than lug the Graco stroller back and forth every day. I do love the way Quattro Tour handles and the size of the basket, but it is SO BIG and heavy that I decided to get the Maclaren.

I have the Graco Quattro Tour travel system, but I wish that I asked this question to the parents on the parenting board before I registered for it! Chat Icon

It's sooo flipping heavy! I feel like an idiot sometimes yanking it out of my trunk and shoving it back in! Chat Icon
I've resorted to using the Baby Bjorn carrier most places now to avoid that!

In hindsight, I should have opted for the Snap N Go or Metrolite and you should go for something light, too!

Re: Need advice from moms

I have the chicco travel system and LOVE it! I do not find it heavy at all and as a result have not used my snap & go more than 2xs.

The stroller maneuvers very easily and smoothly. Me and DH both love it!

Re: Need advice from moms

Hey Holls,

We just registered for the Graco Snugride & got the Metrolite system (the infant seat snaps into it). It's been fine for us & then we got a MacClaren Volo umbrella stroller type deal & its been fine.

We have the Snap n Go and love it! We need to buy a stroller now also, but it has worked really well for a long time.

I'm going to miss the huge basket! None of the strollers I've seen compare.Chat Icon

We have this one also. I really like it alot. It doesn't seem too bulky for me, but maybe that is because I have not used the Snap and Go at all. The Chicco infant seat doesn't snap into it, it just buckles with a strap. I didn't like that so we just use the whole travel system together.

I have the Rock Star......you can use any Graco Snugride in it's frame, so there was no need for a separate snap n go.......

I love it......

Re: Need advice from moms

I got the Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller and the Peg Primo Viaggio Infant car seat and used it as a travel system. Not as heavy as some travel systems. DS is 13 months and I STILL to this day use it as a travel system when he is sleeping. It is so convenient to be able to snap the infant seat into the stroller and go. We will be switching over to the convertible car seat this weekend, so we no longer have this luxury!

Re: Need advice from moms

I have the Graco snugride infant seat and snap & go. I love it. It is easy and convenient. I also have the Graco Metrolite which I just began using b/c AJ is a big boy and seems more comfy in the bigger stroller. I leave both the snap & go and stroller in the car and if he is awake I use the stroller, otherwise the snap & go works great.
I found the travel systems to be very heavy and bulky. Test drive them in BRU or BBB and see what you feel more comfortable with. But you are tiny so I am thinking the travel systems might be a little too much for you.
