need advice on Italy
what would you do?
We really want to spend the last week of our trip in the amalfi coast, we live from Rome so I was thinking on that saturday we leave around 6:50 take the train and arrive in rome at 11:30.
Our flight leaves at 1:30.
is it too close to the time the flight leaves?

Re: need advice on Italy
you also have to take into conideration how far the Train Station is from the airport.
Can you fly from naples to rome instead of taking the train?
I think that is cutting it too close since it is an international flight.....

That's cutting it too close for an international flight. They really want you at the airport 2 hours before departure.
Add Rome's infamous traffic into the equation and you don't have enough time.

Re: need advice on Italy
My experience with Italian public transportation- don't count on it. Its not an exact time. They are more like "estimations".
I went from the amalfi coast of Italy to Greece and has a set schedule. I got there 12 hours after I was originally supposed to
It's a little to close if you ask me.

I would just spend your last night in Rome instead of the Amalfi Coast. I wouldn't cut it so close.

Re: need advice on Italy
Trains in Italy are often not reliable and late. I would say that is not enough time as you still have to get to the airport and they ask you to check in earlier for international flights than you need to for domestic - I wouldn't chance it.

ITA. Trains are often late in Italy. If there is a train strike, then that would be worse...
