Need advice planning Vegas Trip
DH is very stressed from work and needs a vacay. Vegas isn't my first choice for vacay but his face lit up when I mentioned it so that's where we are going. We've been there before and have stayed at the Stratosphere and at the Luxor. We want to stay somewhere different. We want hotel on strip in a moderate price range (not the highest priced) We want one with a good pool, DH really wants a swim up bar or a tiki bar. Any suggestions?
Also any shows you'd suggest? We've seen all the cirque du soleil shows and Penn and Teller already.
Any must go restaurants?
Thanks!!

Re: Need advice planning Vegas Trip
I would go with Treasure Island. It is a NICE hotel, moderately priced, and right in the center of the strip. The Mirage next door is alot more $$, and the other surrounding hotels (Venetian, Wynn & Caesars) will run you alot of $$$.

I can't tell you where to stay because DH is insane and doesn't think about bills -- I'm the billpayer -- and we stayed at Bellagio. MGM Grand wasn't too bad, though.
O at Bellagio is a great show, from what I hear.

Re: Need advice planning Vegas Trip
We stayed at the Paris Hotel (directly across the street from The Bellagio) so it's right in the middle of the strip. The rooms were nice and prices were good. Sorry, we didnt go by the pool so I cant answer that question.
We booked thru a TA if you book w/ the hotel directly the rates are high. Let me know if you want my TA's info.

We just stayed at Monte Carlo and that had a really nice pool, wave pool and lazy river. I totally recommend seeing Danny Ganz - hilarious!

Re: Need advice planning Vegas Trip
My best friend lives in Vegas so I have been there a LOT. We get free rooms at Harrahs (so so older crowdbut we use the room to sleep and thats it) We stayed at the venetian was my favortie hotel and I actually hated it!
For our honeymoon we stayed at the RIO LOVED IT. Its off the strip but its owned by harrahs so they have a shuttle bus to take you back and forth. Its also across from the palms.
We saw Penn and Teller at the Rio and It was good but not what we expected.
