Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
We're coming up in Feb for my dad's surprise party and it will be the first time we fly with DS who'll be just shy of 3 months. We'll be staying with family (none of whom have children) so what should we bring? we'll only be there for the weekend
carseat - i have the snugride, should i bring the base or just the seat?
pnp - should we bring it? its where he sleeps in the bassinet. i assume we'll bring it, but i dont want it to get damaged on the way...hmm
bouncer - should we bring something for him to sit in when we're with family (though i'm sure he'll have more than enough loving arms to lay in)
stroller - i don't want to bring it, i don't forsee us walking anywhere, so do i need it for the airport or can i do without it?
clothing - i have flannel footed pjs for him that should be warm enough for him and a jacket from babygap that he hasn't worn b/c its not cold enough down here - what types of clothes should i bring?
thanks in advance!!!

Re: Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
I just travelled with ds form ny to fl last month (he was 3.5 mo) so this is my advice:
carseat- no need for the base, just read up on how to use the seat belt correctly & find out if you need a locking clip (depends on the seat belt)
pnp- I don't think it's necessary just for a weekend. I ordered the Eddie Bauer Infant Travel bed. It actually didn't come in time & ds slept in the bed with me (but you might not go for that)
bouncer- no, everyone will hold ds or he'll be in the carrier
stroller- You could use the Snap n Go if you have that. I would bring the stroller but if your DH doesn't mind lugging around the carrier, then I guess you wouldn't need it.

Re: Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
We are going to FL in Feb. also. DD will be 2 1/2 months. I am bringing the snap and go, her carrier and the base ( not sure if we are checking the base, but I figure I need it for the car when we are down there and to get to the airport) and her bouncy seat folds up, so I think we'll bring that, since she still sleeps in it. I don't think we are going to bring the pnp.

Re: Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
When we went to AZ with DD at 5 months old, we did NOT bring the base as you can use the seatbelt with the carset directly (see instructions). We did bring the stroller - the full one - because sometimes we put her in it without the car seat so she could "stretch out". She slept in bed with us.
The more you have to lugg around the crankier you will all be. Keep it as simple as possible...

Re: Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
thanks ladies....i agree, carry as little as possible so i knew i was coming to the right place by asking you.
i have a fold up bouncy that i'll bring so he can sleep in that and i'll leave the pack n play home. no base for the car seat and since i have the metrolite not the snap n go, i'll keep the stroller home too.
any suggestions on the type of clothing for the weather there. he's been wearing mostly onesies down here b/c its in the seventies now, he was wearing the fleece pjs when it got cold here that one week.
thanks again!

Re: Need advice re: traveling from FL to NY
We flew with DD from NY to FL when she was just shy of 3 months-this is what we brought:
PNP Travel Swing (we didn't even use it so I wouldn't suggest it!) Car seat Car seat base Snap N Go Stroller
I was glad that we brought the base. We just checked it and they have bags that they will put the base in for you. We checked the stroller at the gate and were able to take the car seat on the plane since it wasn't a full flight (we hadn't paid for a seat for DD) We had a lot of luggage but we just got one of those carts and it worked out fine. I took care of DD and the stroller and DH took care of the cart.
