Need an answer quick, pls- thrombophilia workup
I am going for this thrombophilia workup blood test in an hour ( the one that involves 18 vials of blood) and I was wondering if there is something I can eat to make sure I do not pass out. I ate breakfast, but I was wondering if I need to pack up on sugar. Any advice? Thanks

It is a lot of vials, but it really isn't that much blood. It's not like donating a pint of blood. They took 30 something tubes from me and I was fine. I usually get very lightheaded from donating blood.
Bring some OJ with you just in case you get lightheaded though.

I was told to fast from midnight before and to bring a snack or juice with me to eat/drink afterwards.
The nurse also said it sounds like a lot of blood but they use the small vials and most of them only get filled about half way.
Good Luck! I am going tomorrow morning for mine!

I don't know anything about this test but I know that I get very faint when having bloodwork done. You might want to ask them if you can lay down while they take the blood. I know that helps me.
