There's sergios in Massapequa. Right on the nassau/suffolk border on merrick road. Terrific food, great prices.

I know its not in Suffolk but Angelos on Hempstead tpke in East Meadow is amazing, and its family style Scott

As much as I like Piccolo, I wouldn't consider it "kid friendly". It definitely has more of an adult & romantic atmosphere.
Ruvo in Greenlawn is great.

La Parma in huntington Mangiamo in huntington
both of these are family style and.. I always loved Torcellos in East Northport -not as fancy but the best Penne alaVodka , IMO
