Need Basic Makeup Help
I'm not sure what kind of makeup I need to buy.
My main goal is flawless skin- so good skin coverage. Right now, I use a moisturizer and then I use foundation. After that (blush, eye liner, eye shadow, lipstick or lipgloss). That's essentially it. But I feel like there is more I should be doing on the skin level around the foundation step. What do you do for makeup in terms of skin coverage? Any recommendations?

I always use a good primer before I apply my foundation. It makes a big difference in how the foundation glides on and it reduces the appearance of your pores. I love Too Faced Poreless Primer for Sensitive Skin.

Re: Need Basic Makeup Help
I use a BB cream and then put my bare minerals over it. Gives great coverage without looking heavy that way

Re: Need Basic Makeup Help
I love a good primer, foundation or cc cream and a little coverup to help hide any blemishes. I think starting with a primer really helps with a smooth application.

Re: Need Basic Makeup Help
Depending on your skin type--concealer & powder.
Also-as Luvbuffet mentioned above--exfoliating helps.
I was hating my makeup toward the end of my vacation, but the same foundation is fine now that I am back home & using my Clarisonic.
I keep going back & forth about primers. I don't know if they really help me--some can be drying, or just make my makeup really caked on looking.
ETA- you can also highlight/contour if you want to get fancy.

Re: Need Basic Makeup Help
Definitely get a primer under your foundation. I like Mac. Calvin Klein also makes a primer-foundation combo. The coverage isn't as good as the two-step process, but it's still better than foundation alone. Finish with a dusting powder (I apply with a brush or I look cakey). It'll also help set the foundation and keep it from clumping your eye shadow.
