need car seat help asap
I am going to buy 2 carseats for Allison this wekend she has ge=rown out of her infant car eat already at 5 months. I know that i am getting two evenflow triumph 5. Now my babysitter said she had a car seat for me. She showed it to me and its a few years old but in good condition. Thing is it doenst look like it has the 5 point harness. Could that be possible? Its probobly 2 years old or so. IS it ok if it doesnt have that? Should i just get a third cars eat?
Th brand of car seat she had was Century??? i think

I would do a little research on it. Car seats are so expensive. I would check the expirationdate too.

I wouldn't advise using a seat without a 5 point harness. Check the expiration. If it doesn't have a 5 pt harness , it's probably too old to use anyway. Car seats are good for about 6 yrs.

I'm always hesitant about using a used car seat. You never know if the seat's been compromised in any way. DD has a hand-me-down infant seat, but that's only because it was DS's 3 years earlier, so I know its history. Was the seat in a car accident? Was it sitting in a basement, or other area that could age the straps? Were any chemicals spilled on it that could weaken the straps?

I can't imagine a car seat not having a 5-point harness, but in all honesty, I would hesitate to use a used one, unless I knew for a fact who used it and the condition it was in (like if it was my nephew's or something like that).
