Need Car Seat Recommendations for a tall child!
We need to get a new car seat for my DD, she is off the charts for height so i'm looking for a car seat that has a high height limit.
TIA!

Re: Need Car Seat Recommendations for a tall child!
DD has been off the height chart since she was born, she is very tall, we got 2 of the Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seats that go to 100 lbs and you can adjust the inner back rest as they get taller which has been awesome. Love my car seats, we will be getting another for this new baby.
Here is a link to TRU, but Amazon has some good prices too LINKY
These are the 2 we have: For DH's car (he didn't want the girly pattern-Tritan pattern)
In my car (Sara pattern):

ohh...that looks good. You have the girly pattern one. Does it show the dirt alot? We had one that was pink and after about a month it looked disgusting. How does your's hold up to the normal dirt of a child?

I have the girl pattern one in my car, i have her in my car most of the time and it still looks brand new, have had it over a year. Does know dirt at all and the cloth is very easy to come off and clean if it ever does get dirty (we had a throw up incident once) I took the top head rest off that has the logo on it, seemed to get in the way, no complaints about the car seat at all. hence why we bought another for DH;s car and we will but another for this baby as well.

Re: Need Car Seat Recommendations for a tall child!
The alpha omega is not a good seat for tall children at all. The highest slot is only 14.5" tall. It's also a very misleading seat as the harness only goes to 40lbs in most versions (there is a 50lb version out there as well). The 100lb designation is for BOOSTER use. And, it typically makes a poor booster too. It's referred to by many techs as the "jack of all trades, master of none" seat for varying reasons.
Better options for convertible seats.
First Years True Fit (17"/65lbs) Evenflo Triumph 65 (16.5"/65lb) Evenflo Symphony 65 (17"65lb) Graco MyRide (17"/65lb) Britax Marathon/Boulevard/Advocate 70 (16"/70lb) Recaro Como (19"/70lb) Recaro Signo (17"/70lb)
For a RF seat, there should be 1" or more hard shell above the child's head and the child should be under the weight limit fully clothed. If either of those aren't met, then the seat is outgrown.
For a FF seat, the seat is usable until the tops of the ears are level with the shel, the child should be under the stated weight limit fully clothedl AND the harness is still at or above the shoulders. The seat is outgrown when any of the above happens.
