Need day trip recommendations on LI
I have off on my birthday so DH is taking off as well... we are looking for something to do during the day- its not supposed to be too warm out. Are the north fork wineries open during the week? What other things aren't too far away that only take a few hours?

Re: Need day trip recommendations on LI
I believe that some of the wineries are open during the week (maybe the bigger ones like pindar or Palmer). I would give them a call and make sure before you make the trip. I live on the North fork but don't like wine so I'm not much of a help. When I want something nice and relaxing to do we head to the South Fork and go to Morton Reserve- it's a woodsy area that you can go and feed birds. You put bird seed in your hand and they come and feed right out of your hand! They're so adorable (little black capped chickadees). It's not like attack of the birds or anythign- only 1 will usually come to your hand at a time.

Sorry to hijack, but where is Morton Reserve? It sounds interesting, thanks.

NO. There are maybe 7 stores that are still open. The best is the Gap. Dont even bother I live less than 15 minutes from these outlets and go for the Nine West, Liz Claiborne and Gap Outlet. Nautica for DH. other than that, I say go to Riverhead, totally worth the extra drive!

This is on Noyak Road. (Between Sag Harbor and Southampton) I always loved feeding the chickadees, I find they like sunflower bird seed best!

Atlantis Aquarium Old Stony Brook Museum and shops Sagamore Hill (Roosevelt's home) Bethpage Restoration Village
Yes I believe many wineries are open on the weekend. I know there is some sort of webpage for the wineries, do a search on google (north fork wineries or something like that). The Hamptons are nice too and so are Tanger Outlets.
