Need gift help from Moms
I need some help from all of you lovely Moms! I am going next weekend to visit friends and their newborn baby. I want to bring a gift, but I really didn't want to bring baby clothes (she got soooooooooo much at her shower) or anything like that.
I was thinking of just making a tray of lasagna or something else food-wise that could be frozen and heated up. Is this a good idea? Would a new mom appreciate that? Maybe make 2 or 3 dinners? Any other suggestions? Anything else you think she could really use right now? TIA!

Dinner is a great idea! My sis got us meals from a service- it was a big help.
But what I really needed since I love to cook was a maid for the first month- I had no energy to clean. I would get her a gift cert. from Merry Maids or another service in her community.

I would kiss your feet if you brought me food after I got home from the hospital with a newborn.
Someone (I think it was karacg?) asked the same question a few months ago. We all thought it was a great idea.

Dinner would definitely be appreciated. Also, maybe you can get the men to watch the baby and take her to get a mani/pedi.

I think dinner is the best thing to bring! She probably has everything she needs for now, so the fact that she doesn't have to worry about cooking is going to be a HUGE help.
Maybe as her if you can pick her up something on your way there. Diapers, wipes, vaseline (if she is having a boy she will NEED this).

Dinners are a great idea and will be very much appreciated. I did this for my daughter when she had her first and I will be doing it again come August. This will make her life so much easier.

A friend came over with a complete dinner a week after I came home from the hospital. I can't tell you how grateful we were. It's a fantastic gift!

Re: Need gift help from Moms
the food is a great idea. I can remember eating a ton of take out those first few weeks. A home cooked meal is perfect.

Food all the way!
The first few weeks the last thing you have time for is cooking, a wonderful prepared dish to throw in the oven would be heavenly!

Food is a perfect gift... especially something that can be re-heated! I'm sure she'll be very appreciative.
