Need gift ideas for an 87 year old!
What do I get an 87 year old lady? She doesn't really go out any more and her family is having a surprise birthday party next week! Any ideas?

A carton of cigarettes and a big bottle of vodka.
I don't smoke or drink now, but man, when I hit 87 I am going to start doing both!!
But in all seriousness, you could get her something lovely like an ornament, some flowers or maybe something edible.

A gift card to the beauty parlor for her hair to be done or a basket . I had to get a 90 yr old woman a gift and did a basket from Sandlers, she loved it and cried when it came!

Does she have any favorite Authors? My friends 92 year old grand mother loves to read and she loves Nora Roberts....So I know she would always appreciate a new book.

A nice bathrobe and nightgown set in eyelit cotton. Something from the Miss Elaine collection - Lord and Taylor sells them. I have purchased them for my grandma, mom and MIL. Each one of them specifically requested it after I got it for my mom one year.

I like the robe idea. since she doesn't go out much, I am sure she will use it. maybe some slippers to go with it. I think that is a really nice gift!
