Need help - really good hair salon/stylist?
I am in need of a really good stylist. Nassau or Western suffolk preferred. I want someone who is pretty knowledgable and well trained.
I am having a major problem with my hair, seriously I don't know what is going on. For the past 4 months or so I have a bump, like I had been wearing a headband. It seems the curls grew in this way.
TIA

My stylist for a gazillion years is Roberta at Olga's salon in Bellmore. It is on Merrick Road next to the ACE hardware. She is fabulous & is not one to "lie" about what will look good on you.

Re: Need help - really good hair salon/stylist?
I go to Nelza at Jason Royce in woodbury. I have a cowlick in the front of my head that was making me nuts. We found a style and trained my hair to behave.
I know exactly what you mean!
I also had some ridiculous breakage and dried out hair that we fixed with certain treatments, a different coloring routine and frequent trims. She really saved me. i don't wear my hair up anymore! I don't have to!

For CURLS - I can only recommend two salons in the city. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Need help - really good hair salon/stylist?
I have been to so many that were so expensive and no one did a good job, believe it or not Inow go to The Lemon Tree in N Bellmore across from Stop and Shop. The lady that cuts my hair teaches hair cutting classes in NYC, and does a lot of celebrities hair , this is her side job. I have been to many places and they do the best job-18.00 wash, cut and blow dry. HTH

Be careful who you get there. I got a really bad cut there that took two years to grow out. It looked like she started cutting it in a bob, but then forgot and left some long. All I wanted was a trim and I had to cut about 6 inches off before it was grown out!
