Need Help

Hi everyone,

So I lost my teaching job due to budget constraints and have not found anything for this upcoming year. I don't know what to do anymore. My salary supported us (DH makes little money) and now we can't make ends meet.

I was looking into home services for school aged students w disabilities but cannot find anything.

I don't know what to do anymore. I am getting depressed and need to start working again asap.

Does anyone know of any agencies ?

TIA

Re: Need Help

It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I am currently looking for a nanny position, and I have been looking on www.care.com and www.sittercity.com. The reason why I am telling you this, is because on those websites, there is also a place to find people who are looking for tutoring also. So maybe if you could find a few families to tutor for, it would at least help. I am soooo very sorry you are in this situation, I can relate whole heartedly. I have been in a VERY similiar situation for almost a year now, which is why I have been hard-core trying to find ANYTHING to make ends meet....I am so sorry and I hope you and DH can find something soon!

Re: Need Help

are you special ed? In NY?

maybe look into some of the ABA training local agencies do so you can work with children in their homes.

some of those places like Kumon and Sylvan might be advertising,

Re: Need Help

Look into health and human services agencies as well.

I know if you google "OMRDD agencies for Long Island" a ton come up.

I don't know how great the pay will be, but usually they offer good benefits at least and you are getting paid something!
